Our Model
Our instruments are made available through paid leases that cover our costs as a University-based (i.e., non-profit) research lab. Since we operate at cost, all users of the equipment are required to pay leasing costs, even the lab PIs.
Please send lease inquiries to fiberlab@uw.edu. We’re happy to chat about project ideas including cable selection, edge computing, data quality, deep learning, event monitoring, and imaging. We prioritize academic projects; please state in your inquiry if your project is commercial in nature, as additional considerations apply to commercial projects. We’re happy to assist with proposal writing.
